Michelle Coomber & Jaci Judelson Join Merman
Renowned for nurturing and celebrating female Talent, Merman has continued on this trajectory by signing Michelle Coomber and Jaci Judelson for commercial representation.
Michelle Coomber is a multi-faceted, award-winning director that’s work has been shown across the globe on CNN, Al Jazeera, BBC as well as online for The New York Times, The Guardian and Vice. Characterized for her intimate storytelling, Michelle Coomber’s directing style squeezes the best out of her subjects turning their stories into stunning documentaries, commercials and promos for TV, cinema and online. We are thrilled Michelle is joining the Merman ship and feel her “real-to-reel” style will add another dimension to our roster of Talent. Her strong cinematic sensibility coupled with a deep humanistic approach has led to many festival screenings including at the BFI London Film Festival, SXSW, and Silverdocs. Just as impressive is the impact of her commercial work for brands like Apple, Adidas, San Miguel, Toyota, Google, Vodafone and UNICEF. Michelle has won two bronze and one silver Cannes Lions for her work with Toyota as well as a British Arrows Craft Award nomination for cinematography for her San Miguel: Göran spot.
From directing some of the world’s most famous figures to finding humour and emotion in the nooks and crannies of everyday life, Jaci Judelson’s diverse style is informed by her experience. With a huge back-catalogue in shooting some of the biggest names in the fashion industry, Jaci Judelson is no stranger to celebrities or big brand clients. Her unique visual style and natural approach has been sought after to create powerful films, like her most recent spot for Gatorade starring Serena Williams, which has gone onto win a number of awards including a Cannes Lion, a One Show award, two Clio Awards and one of Campaign US’ Top 20 spots of the year for inclusivity and creativity. Having began her career at Vogue, Jaci built up a stellar book of contacts – some of which can be seen in her four-part documentary series Undressed: Fashion in the 20th Century , which features icons such as Karl Lagerfeld, Ralph Lauren and Alexander McQueen. In the commercial world, Jaci has experienced success both in the US and Europe for a plethora of brands including BMW, Ralph Lauren, H&M, Nokia, L’Oréal and Dove, for their “Real Women” series. She has also turned her eye to social-action campaigns, directed the AIDS public service commercials and President Obama’s 2008 election run up “Vote From Abroad” internet campaign. Most recently, Jaci directed the launch video for Reese Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine channel on DirectTV. Jaci’s other commercial work includes spots for T Mobile, Visa, C Spire, Staples, Coca Cola and Avon.
